FOOTBALL

As part of American Youth Football (AYF), the largest youth football organization in the U.S., AYF New England provides a safe, inclusive, and competitive environment for players of all skill levels, ages 6 to 14.

AYF New England follows an age-based structure to ensure fair and developmentally appropriate competition. We offer the following divisions:

• 6U Division: Age 6
   
• 8U Division: Ages 7–8
   
• 10U Division: Ages 9–10
   
• 12U Division: Ages 11–12
   
• 14U Division: Ages 13–14
   

Divisions are determined by the athlete’s age as of July 31 of the current year. No weight limits—just a focus on skill, safety, and development.

Safety is a priority

Every player deserves a safe and supportive environment to grow and compete. Our programs follow nationally recognized safety standards and coach certification requirements:

• All coaches complete AYF-approved certification and background checks.
   
• We enforce strict concussion protocols and heat safety measures.
   
• Equipment must meet national safety standards.
   
• Medical staff are present at all sanctioned games.
   

Parents can feel confident that their child’s well-being comes first in everything we do.

Forms

All athletes must submit required paperwork on an annual basis in order to qualify to play.  Athletes that do not submit their paperwork may not practice or play until all paperwork has been submitted and reviewed.  For a checklist of what is required, click here.

Championships

In November, New England Region is the host to the AYF New England Region Championships, an AYF National Championships qualifying event.  Teams compete in semi-final games to qualify for regional competition.  For more information on regional championship events, visit the Region Championships page on this site.
